Teen Tech Week

This week, March 11th to the 15th is Teen Tech Week, which is a celebration of technology that takes place at libraries throughout the country.  Teen Tech Week is sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association.

This week at Fairfield, we are doing several things to celebrate Teen Tech Week.  Each day on the middle and high school announcements, student announcers will read a statistic and tip about technology safety.  Each day there will also be a tech battle in the library.  Students will visit the library to vote each day for their favorite technology, and with each vote, they will be entered into a raffle.  On Friday, a middle school student and high school student will be selected from all of the votes, and they will win a prize.  What is the prize?  Well, you'll just have to wait and see!

Don't forget to Check In @ your library this week!

Our Livebinder

We've all been there.  You sit at your computer on the eve of starting a research assignment and you think to yourself, "I just don't know where to start!."    Whether it is a simple assignment like looking for a current event or a complex assignment like a term paper, I have the solution to your problem.  Our library's livebinder is new tool for this year that contains a plethora of research information, like our databases, search engines, citation tools, as well as resource guides for teacher assignments.  It is a one-stop-shop for your research needs.  You can access it from Destiny, from the library webpage on the district website, by clicking on the screen shot above, and by going to this link: http://www.livebinders.com/play/play?id=383483

Teachers:  If you want your own tab for your assignment information, all you have to do is ask!
